ISTEP Summit (October 12, 2023)

All Iowa youth who are in grades 7-12 are invited to attend, free of cost. ISTEP Executive Council members plan and lead the entire day. Imagine selfie stations, team building games, classic state fair foods, tailgating games and meeting other young leaders across Iowa. And, most importantly, gaining skills and knowledge to bring back to your local communities about talking to your peers about tobacco use.

Red Ribbon Week (October 23-31)

During Red Ribbon Week, bring awareness of the harms of tobacco use and vaping to the 3rd - 6th grade students at your school by presenting the Let's Make Healthy Choices lesson in their classrooms. This event will take preparation in order for chapter members to confidently present the information as a group.

Together Tailgate (Football Season, 2023)

This event is a collaboration between the ISTEP Council and the Kansas Resist Council as a way to bring awareness to health equity and tobacco use. Other youth state tobacco programs are also invited to participate as a way to spread the message across multiple states.

Vape Free After Prom (April 2024)

Host a table at your school's after prom to talk to your peers about the harms of using tobacco, including vaping. Encourage them to be tobacco and vape free, and invite them to join your ISTEP chapter. As peers come to the table, play the Fact or Fiction game to start the conversation with them.
