E-Cigarette Ads and Youth

The CDC Vital Signs program, launched in 2010, addresses a single, important public health topic each month. This month’s edition presents the CDC's latest findings on youth exposure to e-cigarette advertising. Also included are strategies to prevent youth exposure to e-cigarette advertising and youth e-cigarette use.
Key points in the Vital Signs report include:
- More than 18 million (7 in 10) US middle and high school youth were exposed to e-cigarette ads in 2014.
- More than 1 in 2 middle and high school youth were exposed to e-cigarette ads in retail stores.
- Nearly 2 in 5 middle and high school youth saw e-cigarette ads online. Click here for more information.
